Nick Hills

Divisional Director


Nick has spent his whole career to date within the horticulture industry, holding various positions within the business.

Initially starting his career as an operative, Nick joined Nurture as a Contracts Manager through the acquisition of Parkview Landscapes in 2012, based in the Northwest of England. In 2014, Nick was promoted to Regional Manager and through his natural aptitude was shortly promoted again in 2015 to Regional Director for the North.

Nick is now Divisional Director of the North for the Nurture Group, having overall responsibility for the North and Scotland regions of the business.

Over the 8 years that Nick has been with Nurture, he has been integral in building the structure of the North region within the company, using his skills to manage our teams and enable Nurture to give true direct delivery on a national basis whilst still maintaining that family feel as a business.


Will Pettit

Regional Manager


With over 12 years of experience, Will has an extensive knowledge of the landscaping, grounds maintenance and arboricultural industries.

He has excellent knowledge of HS&E protocol and is a conscientious individual who takes a professional approach to every site he manages.

Will currently looks after the operational management of the Northern region alongside the Regional Director.


Colin Walkinshaw

Regional Manager


Colin manages mobile teams across the North West maintaining pubs, hotels, retail parks, offices, housing associations and schools. During his 25 year career he progressed from team leader to depot manager before joining Nurture. The most satisfying aspect of Colin’s role is to deliver positive feedback from the clients to his teams.


Adam Basnett

Regional Manager


Adam is responsible for grounds maintenance contracts across Yorkshire and the North East. He began his career as an apprentice at a tournament golf course before diversifying into specialist weed control and vegetation management on rail infrastructure and for local authorities. Adam enjoys being a member of the Nurture team and meeting the horticultural challenges posed across the diverse client base.


Andrew Williams

Regional Manager

Andrew Joined Nurture as part of the Grace Landscapes Acquisition and has over 25 years experience within the Landscape Industry.
Andrew manages the grounds maintenance operations for our Mirfield office, and looks after a variety of client sites in the North, consisting of High Spec Business Parks, Offices, and PFI School Contracts.
Starting out as a trainee, Andrew has progressed through the ranks to become a Regional Manager.
He has a very broad experience within the landscaping industry, including soft landscape construction as well as ground maintenance, and has been successful in winning a BALI Award.
He IOSH managing safely qualified, as well as being responsible for the Operator Licence Compliance at our Mirfield office.

Darren Hardman

Regional Manager


Darren has over 40 years experience within the Landscape Industry, starting his career as an apprentice gardener, before progressing into management. He has covered all aspects of commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance services, including including project install and grounds maintenance services in the North East Region and Scotland. Darren currently manage several high-profile static sites in the North East Region and has won Gold standard awards in Northumbria in Bloom best Business Park as well as BALI Awards.


Stephen Tattum

Contracts Manager


Stephen manages mobile teams across the North West providing landscape maintenance to a host of sites and a wide variety of occupiers and uses. Stephen has lifelong horticultural expertise, progressing from labourer to supervisor and manager. He has extensive commercial and domestic experience and enjoys the diversity of clients and environments accompanying the role.

Lewis Turton

Contracts Manager


With over 20 years’ experience within the grounds maintenance industry, Lewis has progressed through the ranks starting as a grounds technician and then moving on to becoming a team leader to now holding the position of Contracts Manager.

In his career he has gained valuable on the tools experience as well as various qualifications, including herbicide application, chain saw/tree felling and NVQ in horticulture.

He is currently responsible for day to day operations of the Deeside depot, managing and supporting mobile and static teams in the North West on sites that include schools, business and retail parks, blue chip companies and prestigious green spaces.

Alan Guilfoyle

Contracts Manager


Alan started his horticultural career in 1999 as an interior plant technician servicing sites across the North West. He is very passionate about what he does and loves dealing with our clients on a daily basis. With 18yrs experience, Alan now oversees the maintenance and installation of our interior plant contracts across the North of England. As well as dealing with interiors, Alan is also responsible for the organisation of our Christmas installations.

Dale Leon

Dale has over 16 years’ experience within the grounds and landscaping industry, starting his career in Arboriculture before moving into the Horticulture.

Dale is responsible for managing mobile teams across the Manchester and Sheffield area for Nurture. Dale is also one of Nurtures' beekeepers and looks after numerous bee hives for our clients around the north of England.

Dan Woods

Contracts Manager


With 12 years’ experience within the grounds maintenance and landscaping industry, Dan has worked on all aspects of the service provision for grounds maintenance, landscaping, winter gritting and festive decorations.

Through his hard work and aptitude for dealing with figures he progressed into the office environment where he has excelled in dealing with customer enquiries and pricing ad hoc works and tenders over the past few years.

Dan is now an Assistant Contract Managers and is looking forward to working within the Nurture family and taking on new challenges. He will continue to submit quotations and price ad hoc works but will also be using his strengths to build and create new customer relationships going forward.

Gayle Pugh

Key Account Manager


Gayle has over 30 years’ experience in customer care working within a variety of industries, with the past 10 years being in the landscape & grounds maintenance industry. Since joining Nurture, she has progressed from Customer Service Advisor to the role of Key Account Manager and is totally focused on building a strong relationship with the client and liaising with colleagues within Nurture to ensure that we continue to deliver a high quality service to meet customer requirements.

Paul has an impressive 38 years experience within the grounds maintenance industry having worked in both the public & private sectors. Throughout his time, he has obtained all the relevant experience and skill sets to be able to deliver our clients a quality service to all their projects.
He enjoys working within a close mamagment team who all have the same passion and motivation, and prides himself in his ability to develop and build up individuals to fulfil their potential, enabling both the company and our clients to reap the rewards.

Tom Tomlinson

Contracts Manager


Tom has worked within the Horticulture industry for over 40 years, starting is career as an apprentice greenkeeper.
Having worked in both the private and public sectors, Tom has a wide range of experience in managing a variety of grounds maintenance contracts. He is currrently responsibile for two of our mobile teams running out of our Durham depot and manages three prestigious Business Parks in the North region, namely Newcastle Business Park, Doxford International Business Park and Rainton Bridge Business Park, who have all won Gold medals in the Northumberland in Bloom competition, with Rainton Bridge also winning a BALI award for best Small Busines Park in the Northeast.

Stuart Jones

Contracts Manager


Stuart joined Nurture as a Contracts Manager through the acquisition of Claphams Landscapes in 2020 and has over 12 years’ experience within the grounds maintenance industry, with eight years being spent on the ground.

Starting as an operative, Stuart progressed to a groundsman position on a static research & development park.

In 2014, he was offered the opportunity to become foreman of a brand new area based out of Southampton. Starting off covering a small area with a one-man team, it soon developed into a large area with 6 teams. Stuart worked in this position for 2 years before being promoted to South East Contracts Manager in 2016

Stuart has earned qualifications in herbicide application, chainsaw H&S, as well as maintenance & tree felling. He is holder of CSCS Blue Card, B+E towing entitlement, IPAF, High Access trained and has attended PCA training School in Cambridge where he gained the qualification of Certified Surveyor in Japanese Knotweed (CSJK). Stuart worked in this position for 2 years before being promoted to South East Contracts Manager in 2016

Stuart is experienced in managing delivery of our services to a variety of sites, ranging from busy retail parks and industrial sites, to high profile business parks, airport landside operations and sites of national security.

He has a strong focus on the Health & Safety of our teams and site users as well as delivering excellent customer service and contractual fulfilment.

Tom Harper

Contracts Manager


Tom worked for Claphams Landscapes for over 15 years prior to joining Nurture through acquisition in February 2020.

He has worked across various sectors within the industry; from landscape maintenance to landscape construction, managing a variety of national maintenance contracts.

He has built long-standing relationships with both his teams and clients, enabling him to deliver consistently high standards to client sites at all times, with some client relationships spanning over 10 years.

He is now responsible for looking after teams in and around Manchester and Cheshire area.


Glyn Marshall

Assistant Contracts Manager


Glynn has over 25 years experience in the Horticultural industry. Starting his careern tending both a football pitch and a bowling green at a sports club in Sheffield before joining a landscaping company as an operative on an Air Force base near Doncaster.
Since then, his career has progressed and he has mastered each promotion earning him his present title of Assistant Contracts Manager at Nurture Landscapes.
He has obtained a variety of skills throughout years, including machinery use and repairs, Grounds maintenance and site based soft construction of new contracts as well as passing his IOSH.
Glynn's current role includes the day to day tasks associated with keeping our Sheffield Depot running smoothly and efficiently, while also programming and managing the approx. 100 grounds maintenance sites that our Sheffield Depot currently cares for.
