Peter Fane

Managing Director


Peter’s role is the strategic direction of the business including all acquisitions, with a focus on finance and the key area of health and safety. He was Managing Director of a national landscape contractor for 16 years before founding Nurture in 2008. Peter has used his extensive financial and business experience to drive Nurture’s development from start-up to a national business providing best in class horticultural and landscape maintenance. Peter is passionate about horticulture and working as part of a dynamic management team that really cares about quality and customer service.


Paul Bean

Sales Director


Paul is responsible for the overall management of Business and Strategic Development within the Nurture Group, providing support to the business development teams within the grounds maintenance, plant displays and winter gritting sectors of the business, as well as supporting sustainability initiatives and business systems.

He has worked in horticulture for more than 25 years, and has particular expertise in business and IT systems.

As one of the founding Directors of Nurture Landscapes, Paul is immensely proud of the business which has grown from an idea into a quality, multi-award winning national service provider.

Simon Thomson

Finance Director


Simon is responsible for the management of the financial accounts of the Nurture Group, including budgeting, forecasting and both internal and external financial reporting, as well as the due diligence on new acquisitions.

Simon is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant with over 25 years’ experience in both practice and commerce, having been Head of Finance for a listed online gambling company for 7 years prior to joining the Nurture Group. Simon was attracted to Nurture as felt it was an exciting and interesting company to work for, with strong managed growth both organically and through strategic acquisitions.

He is passionate about using the latest technology to drive efficiency in financial processes, reporting and analysis, and for the Finance function to be a strong enabler for the development and future growth of the business.

Mark Lusty



Mark joins Nurture as part of the Integritas acquisition and will join the Nurture Board. Mark has 30 years of industry experience and a lifetime of horticultural knowledge. He is qualified in Amenity Horticulture, Landscape and Sports Turf Management and has worked as Operations, Sales and Acquisitions Director with some of the industry’s leading companies. Mark’s wide experience and knowledge of horticulture will help Nurture continue to be a leading company in the landscape market.


Robin Jackson

Head of Compliance, HSEQ and Training


The safety of staff, customers and all who come into contact with Nurture’s operations is of paramount importance. Robin’s role is to implement and monitor health and safety and ensure compliance with legislation. Robin has nearly 40 years of experience within the Horticultural Industry, specialising in grounds maintenance Health & Safety for the last 18 years, having previously spent 17 years lecturing Horticulture at an Agricultural College where Health & Safety was paramount within all courses & practical activities. A Safety Manager within the high risk environment of the grounds maintenance industry, he specifically focuses on employee induction training, ongoing safety training for all staff and operatives and completes a wide range of activities on site at operational locations throughout the UK.


Paul Ellis

Quality and Environmental Manager


Paul oversees the ISO 9001 and 14001 management systems which includes internal auditing, maintenance and upgrade of both systems and health and safety inspections. He has worked in horticulture since 2003 in a variety of roles before specialising in environmental management. Paul is motivated by the team ethic at Nurture, being willing, friendly and passionate about what they do to produce a great service and product.

John Beavan

Training Manager


John oversees the training nationally for Nurture and assists with Health and Safety as required. He has always worked in Horticulture and is a Lantra qualified trainer and assessor for vocational and NVQ qualifications that are all Landscaping focused. John is passionate about delivering nationally accredited qualifications and in house training for the team to assist with our professionalism. He loves cycling and is a very passionate beekeeper who has worked for central government and travelled most of Europe to feed his passion about honeybees.

Karen Bish

Head of Human Resources and Management Development


Karen’s career in HR and Management Development spans 25 years, where she has worked for a variety of industries including 5 years prior experience within the landscaping industry.

Karen will oversee and develop the people related policies and procedures associated to the Human Resources function with Nurture, as well as being responsible for Management Development Programmes within the business.
